Bumrah Returns, Rahul Ruled Out for Final Test against England

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the squad for the fifth and final Test against England, with a key player returning and another remaining sidelined. Pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah will rejoin the team after being rested for the previous test, while KL Rahul is still recovering from a quadriceps tendon injury.

India currently holds a commanding 3-1 lead in the five-match series after their victory in Ranchi. Bumrah was rested for the fourth test as part of workload management, but his return will bolster the Indian bowling attack.

Meanwhile, KL Rahul, who sustained the injury during the opening test in Hyderabad, remains out. The BCCI is closely monitoring his progress in consultation with specialists in London. Akash Deep, who impressed on his Test debut in Ranchi, could retain his place alongside Bumrah in the pace attack for the final test starting March 7th in Dharamsala.

Frontline seamer Mohammed Shami, who missed the entire series due to a heel injury, underwent surgery earlier this week. He is expected to begin his rehabilitation process at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru soon.
