HISTORY
Dhanteras is also called as Dhanatrayodashi. It marks the first day of Diwali which falls on the thirteenth lunar day of Krishna Paksha during the hindu calendar month of Ashvin. Hinduism represents health, wealth and well-being carrying deep culture and religious importance.Dhanteras is heavy with mythology and is predominantly associated with Samudra Manthan or the churning of the ocean.
CULTURAL RELEVANCE
1.Worship ceremonies- This is the evening when people start doing the lakshmi pooja, where they light diyas to invite Godess lakshmi into the homes.
2.AUSPICIOUS PURCHASES- The buying of new articles, especially gold and silver jewellery and utensils is considered very auspicious on dhanteras.
3.Home Decoration- Homes are decorated with rangoli and diyas to look beautiful, it's also decorated with different flowers.
