Introduction
The Indian political strategist Prashant Kishor Pandey, also known as PK, has experience working on UN-funded public health initiatives. Upon entering Indian politics, he worked as a strategist for a number of parties, including the BJP, JD(U), INC, AAP, DMK, YSRCP, and TMC. Notable contributions he made included supporting Gujarati Chief Minister Narendra Modi gain reelection in 2012 and aiding the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secure a majority in the 2014 Lok Sabha election by way of the group he founded, Citizens for Accountable Governance (CAG).
Personal life and career
Originally from Konar village in Sasaram, Bihar, Prashant Kishor later relocated to Buxar to pursue his schooling. He is the father of a son and is wed to Jahnavi Das, a doctor from Guwahati, Assam. Prior to joining Janata Dal (United) in 2018, Kishor served as a political strategist for the BJP on a pro gratis basis.
Work as a political strategist
Prashant Kishor is recognized with coming up with creative campaign tactics for Narendra Modi during the 2014 elections. He co-founded Citizens for Accountable Governance (CAG) in 2013. Later, in 2015, he founded I-PAC, which aided Nitish Kumar in winning a third term as Bihar's chief minister. In state elections across India, he has effectively advised Amarinder Singh, Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, Arvind Kejriwal, Mamata Banerjee, M. K. Stalin, and other parties, despite a defeat with Congress in the 2017 Uttar Pradesh elections.
Retirement from political strategy
Following the victories of the DMK in Tamil Nadu and the AITC in West Bengal in 2021, Kishor declared his retirement from the political strategist field. He said in an NDTV interview that he wanted to take a vacation and explore other interests in life, saying, "I don't want to keep doing what I'm doing. I've accomplished enough. It's time for me to move on and pursue other interests in my life. I wish to leave this area."
Jan Suraaj
Kishor made a suggestion about starting his political organization on May 2, 2022, focusing on "Jan Suraaj-Peoples Good Governance". Retiring as a strategist, he contemplates establishing a political party in Bihar. In an effort to engage people throughout the state, Kishor announced a 3,000 km Padyatra through Bihar as part of his "Jan Suraaj Padyatra" campaign. Forming a party with the intention of running for the Bihar Legislative Assembly in 2025 is one objective.
