The Rise of Shivam Dube, An All-Rounder's Journey

Introduction

Mumbai in domestic cricket and the Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League are home teams for Indian international cricketer Shivam Dube, who was born on June 26, 1993. Left-handed batter and medium-pace right-arm bowler, he is an all-around player. November 2019 saw Dube make his cricketing debut for the Indian national side.

Early life 

Rajesh Dube, who moved to Mumbai on June 26, 1993, from the Bhadohi area of Uttar Pradesh, was the father of Shivam Dube. Due to financial difficulties and his weight, Dube had to give up playing school cricket at the age of 14. At the age of 19, he started playing again, and the Mumbai Under-23s quickly picked him.

Domestic career

Shivam Dube debuted for Mumbai in Twenty20 in 2016, in List A in 2017, and in the first class in 2017, taking five wickets in his debut. In 2018, he claimed five more wickets and produced his first-ever century in the first-class format. In the Ranji Trophy and Mumbai T20 League, where he won the player of the tournament award, he twice smashed five sixes in a single over in 2018.

He was acquired for ₹4 crores by the Chennai Super Kings in 2022 and 2023, Rajasthan Royals in 2021, and RCB in the 2019 IPL auction. He amassed 418 runs at a strike percentage of 158.33 in the 2023 IPL. 52 runs versus RCB was his best score. With a final score of 32*, he and CSK won the championship. He was kept by CSK for the 2024 Indian Premier League and won Player of the Match after scoring 51 against GT.

International career

In 2019, Shivam Dube debuted for India in both T20I and ODI formats. He bowled the second most costly over in a Twenty20 International match against New Zealand in 2020, giving up 34 runs. He became the fourth Indian player to reach 60 runs and take one wicket in a Twenty20 international match against Afghanistan in January 2024.

Personal life

Shivam Dube wed Anjum Khan, his longtime girlfriend, in Mumbai on July 16, 2021. On February 13, 2022, the couple gave birth to their first child, a baby boy.
