MEANING
A cyber or cybersecurity threat is a malicious act that seeks to damage data, steal data, or disrupt digital life in general. Cyber threats include computer viruses, data breaches, Denial of Services and other attack vectors. Cyber threats can come from within an organization by trusted users or from remote locations by unknown parties.

1. Malware- Malware is software that has been specifically designed to perform malicious tasks on a device or network.
2. Spyware- Spyware is a form of malware that hides on a device providing real-time information sharing to its host, enabling them to steal data like bank details and passwords.
3. Phishing Attacks- Phishing attacks are when a cybercriminal attempts to lure individual into providing sensitive data.

20% of Indian users fell victim to cyber threats in the first quarter of 2024 even as browsers and social media engineering remained the most prevalent forms of web threats.While nearly 22.9% users were attacked by web-borne threats, 20.1% users were found to be vulnerable to local threats during the same period.
