ABOUT
WIPO is one of the oldest and specialised agencies of United Nations. It  was created in 1967 "to encourage creative activity, to promote the protection of intellectual property throughout the world". It  currently administers 26 international treaties. It's headquartered are in Geneva, Switzerland. It is the United Nations agency that serves the world’s innovators, creators and many more people , ensuring that their ideas travel safely to the market and improve lives everywhere. It also rewards creativity and contributes to economic development.

DEVELOPMENT AGENDA
 The agreed "WIPO Development Agenda"[29] (composed of over 45 recommendations) was the culmination of a long process of transformation for the organization from one that had historically been primarily aimed at protecting the interests of rightholders , to one that has increasingly incorporated the interests of other stakeholders in the international intellectual property system as well as integrating into the broader corpus of international law on human rights, environment and economic cooperation.

WHY FUTURE THINKING
Futures thinking allows people and organizations to better understand the role that the future plays in the present as it promotes creative exploration of different options and imagining alternative realities to broaden perspectives and possibilities. Strategic foresight builds upon futures thinking by equipping individuals and organizations with a systematic process and tools to navigate the landscape of possibilities more confidently.
