Introduction

Born on November 28, 1988, Yami Gautam Dhar is an Indian actress most recognized for her roles in Hindi cinema. She started out as a model and moved on to television soap operas before starring in "Vicky Donor" (2012), the Hindi film for which she won the Zee Cine Award for Best Female Debut. Her appearances in "Uri: The Surgical Strike" and "Bala" (both 2019) helped her become well-known. Since then, she has starred in a number of popular movies, such as "Article 370" (2024), "OMG 2" (2023), and "Bhoot Police" (2021).

Early and personal life

Yami Gautam is from a family with a history in film; she was raised in Chandigarh after being born in Himachal Pradesh. At twenty years old, she changed her focus from law school to acting. In 2021, she wed Aditya Dhar, and the couple received a boy as their first child in May of 2024.

Career

Television career (2008–2010)

When Gautam was twenty, she moved to Mumbai to pursue her acting career, where she made her TV debut in "Chand Ke Paar Chalo." Her performance in Colors TV's "Yeh Pyar Na Hoga Kam" later brought her recognition. She also made appearances in reality series including "Kitchen Champion Season 1" and "Meethi Choori No 1."

Film debut and early work (2009–2018)

Gautam received praise and accolades for her Bollywood debut in "Vicky Donor" (2012). She took a break until making a comeback with "Badlapur" (2015), receiving accolades for the role. Her latter endeavors were "Kaabil" (2017) and "Batti Gul Meter Chalu" (2018), both of which had differing degrees of success.

Breakthrough and success (2019–present)

With the release of "Uri: The Surgical Strike" (2019) and "Bala" (2019), Gautam's career took off. With "A Thursday" (2022), "Dasvi" (2022), and "Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga" (2023), she extended her run and won plaudits for each of her performances. She played an intelligence officer in the politically heated thriller "Article 370" (2024), which received positive reviews despite unfavorable reviews from critics.
