Introduction
Anees Bazmee is the director of the upcoming Indian comedic horror film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which is being produced by Cine1 Studios and T-Series Films. It is a spiritual follow-up to Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007) and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 (2022) and features Madhuri Dixit, Triptii Dimri, Kartik Aaryan, and Vidya Balan. The film, which is set in Kolkata, was first announced in March 2023. Principal photography took place in a number of locales from March to August 2024. It is scheduled to open in theaters on November 1, 2024, in time for Diwali.
Premise
Rooh Baba investigates a haunted mansion in Kolkata in order to solve a compelling mystery and face a vengeful ghost.

Development
A teaser from T-Series for the third edition of the Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise was released on March 1, 2023. Actor Kartik Aaryan, director Anees Bazmee, and producer Bhushan Kumar are getting back together. Aaryan will be playing Rooh Baba again. Bazmee reappears in both writing and directing roles.
Casting
As Rooh Baba, Kartik Aaryan leads the Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 cast. Vidya Balan will play Monjulika again, it was announced on February 12, 2024, when she shared a dancing video with Aaryan. On February 21, Triptii Dimri joined the cast, and Rajpal Yadav is back as Chhota Pandit. Madhuri Dixit, Vijay Raaz, Rajesh Sharma, Manish Wadhwa, Sanjay Mishra, and Ashwini Kalsekar are also part of the impressive cast.
Filming
The actors of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 began filming in Mumbai on March 9, 2024, with a muhurat puja conducted by producer Bhushan Kumar. Kartik Aaryan's first shot was featured in a T-Series video on March 11. After breaking his leg, director Anees Bazmee decided to get minor surgery in order to keep working. With more than a thousand dancers performing a significant tune, the first filming schedule concluded on March 27. On April 8, the team relocated to Kolkata to film at famous spots before coming back to Mumbai for important shots. Filming continued in Orchha, Madhya Pradesh, following a pause due to Aaryan's promotional commitments, and it ended on August 1, 2024, with more scenes slated for Leh Ladakh.

Theatrical
The global theatrical premiere of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is scheduled for November 1, 2024, which also happens to be Diwali.
Distribution
As part of a three-film strategy, distributor Anil Thadani has secured single screens for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, while AA Films has obtained the theatrical distribution rights.
