Introduction
Cricket player Haris Rauf, who was born on November 7, 1993, made his debut for Pakistan on the international scene in January 2020. In October 2018, he debuted for Lahore Qalandars in the Twenty20 league, in December 2022, he made his Test debut against England.
Early life and family
Haris Rauf, a Pashtun from the Swati clan in Mansehra, was born on November 7, 1993, in Rawalpindi, Punjab. He never actually joined the Diamond Cricket Club in Islamabad, even though he grew up close to it. He was initially more of a football fan and attended Islamabad Model College for Boys I-8/3, where he was a standout player. Later on, he worked as a mobile shop employee and played tape-ball cricket to supplement his income while attending the International Islamic University in Islamabad to pursue an IT program. He wed Muzna Masood Malik, a classmate, in Islamabad on December 23, 2022.
Early career
At the age of 23, Rauf switched to playing hardball cricket and joined the International Islamic University of Islamabad cricket team. He reluctantly went to the Lahore Qalandars trials in 2017 after his coach insisted. Lahore Qalandars made him an offer of a contract after realizing his ability and wanting to help him advance. To further his development, Rauf joined the Hawkesbury Cricket Club in Australia and under coach Aaqib Javed started a strict training regimen. In 2018, he played his first Twenty20 match for the Lahore Qalandars against the Hobart Hurricanes.
Rauf began his domestic career in 2018 when he made his debut for Lahore Qalandars in the Abu Dhabi T20 Trophy. Later, in April 2019, he debuted on the List A, having joined Baluchistan's side for the 2019 Pakistan Cup. He participated for Northern in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy in September 2019 and made his first-class debut in the same month. He was listed as one of the players to watch in the 2019–20 National T20 Cup by the Pakistan Cricket Board. Rauf took a hat-trick and five wickets in his first Big Bash League season with the Melbourne Stars in 2019–20. He signed a contract with Yorkshire County Cricket Club in December 2021 to play cricket in England in 2022.
