ASIAN TABLE TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP
In the recent years, Indian table tennis players have gained significant attention by consistently defeating challengers from outside the Commonwealth nations. China, Japan, the two Koreas, and Chinese Taipei have consistently produced talents, helping the continent maintain its lead over opposition from the west. The introduction of the Ultimate Table Tennis League has also played a key role in helping Indian players test their skills against some of the top 25 ranked players in both categories.

INDIA CLINCHES THREE MEDALS
Sutirtha Mukherjee and Ayhika Mukherjee won India's maiden bronze medal in Women's Doubles event at the Asian Table Tennis Championship organised in Astana, Kazakhstan.
The trio of Manika Batra, Ayhika Mukherjee, and Sutirtha Mukherjee secured country's first-ever medal in the women's team category since the competiton began in 1972, though they eventually lost 1-3 to Japan in the semifinals.
In the men's category, India secured another bronze, their third straight in the tournaments, after the team of Achanta Sharath Kamal, Manav Thakkar, and Harmeet Desai fell 0-3 to Chinese Taipei in the semifinals.
