Bihar
Created to resurrect the historic Nalanda Mahavihara, Nalanda University received endorsement from ASEAN in 2009 and was approved at the 2007 East Asia Summit. The design competition was won by the company of architect BV Doshi, and Bihar contributed the site. The institution relocated to its new 455-acre campus in 2020, having only 15 students in 2014. This is the first campus in Bihar to run entirely on glass bottles for water and generate biogas.
