Introduction

The 2024 romantic comedy "The Idea of You" stars Anne Hathaway and a budding pop sensation. It's about a single mother who develops feelings for a hot boy band's lead singer. The film debuted in March and became available on Netflix in May.

Premise

40-year-old single mother Solène Marchand sends their teenage daughter to the Coachella music festival at her ex-husband's request. In an unexpected turn of events, lead singer of the well-known boy band August Moon, 24-year-old Hayes Campbell, and Solène begin a developing romantic relationship.

Production

Anne Hathaway will be starring in the film adaptation of Robinne Lee's novel "The Idea of You"! In October of 2022, filming in Georgia came to an end. Anticipate a seductive relationship between Hathaway and Nicholas Galitzine, her co-star, from May until December.

Release

Launched at South by Southwest in March, "The Idea of You" will be available on Amazon Prime Video on May 2nd.

Reception

"The Idea of You" is receiving great reviews!  Reviews laud director Michael Showalter's touch as well as Anne Hathaway's comeback to romantic comedies. On Rotten Tomatoes, it is now rated 88% fresh.
