In order to attend his girlfriend's sister's birthday celebration at a Chuck E. Cheese in Illinois, Robert Powell, who is accused of stealing $400 million in cryptocurrency from FTX, has asked to be temporarily released from home detention. Powell wants to change his terms so that he can attend the event on November 10 from 2 to 6 p.m. He was arrested in February and freed on a $10,000 bond. According to his attorneys, he has complied with all release conditions, and the government and pretrial services have not raised any issues with the request.
